This five-year documentary takes place in Labuan Bajo , a small town off the west coast of Flores Island , near Komodo National Park in Indonesia. Located in the heart of the Coral Triangle, the epicenter of marine biodiversity, this region is home to 76% of the world's coral species and 2,228 species of reef fish.

 

The fish market, a legendary place of passage, where everything moves very quickly. Fishermen are busy selling their catch before resting after a long night of fishing.

 

Within a few dozen minutes, the fishermen arrive, unload, and sell. This precious fish is essential to life here and is practically the only source of protein for coastal populations.

 

What would happen if the fish stock were to disappear? Where would these populations, so dependent on the marine environment, go?
